2.3.1 Requirements

1.Timer had to be obtained form a land owned by the applicant or timber has to be purchased legally.
2.When those species of timber belong to the group of prohibited species under the flora and fauna protection ordinance, you should have a permit obtained from the director general department of wild life conservation.

2.3.2 Process of the forwarding and application from (places of obtaining and submitting application forms and time)

2.3.2.1 Places of obtain application forms: All divisional secretariats

2.3.2.2 Payment that has to be made obtain: No payment has to be made an application form

2.3.2.3 Time of submitting application form: During work hours of the week to the Divisional Secretariats

2.3.2.4 Payment that has to be made to service

2.3.3 Duration that takes to provides the particular service (General and Priority services)

a)07 weeks for Ebony, Calamendor, Milla, Halmilla, Panakkka, Satin wood, Margosa, Kumbuk, palu, Suriya Mara, Hulan Hik, Welan and Gammmalu(Permits will be issued for this by the Forest Department)
b)04 weeks for other timber species

2.3.4 Required documents

1.Documents related to purchasing of timber
2.When timber has been taken from private land, should produce the documents related to private ownership of the land(Ex: Deeds)

2.3.6 Situations that deviate from above requirements and special information.

Timber that can be transported within each district without a permit has been published in Gazette No. 1548/29 of 09.05.2008 and No.1762/1 of 11 June 2012.
