Introduction
To consider whether permission can be granted for the development activities carried out in places that are not in conformity with the planning and building regulations of the Urban Development Authority (under the UDA Act No. 41 in 1978) according to the topography of the areas declared by the Urban Development Authority and to obtain the Basic Planning Clearance for a development activity accordingly.

This service can be obtained by the following divisions and provincial offices:
Enforcement Division
Western Province Office
Development Planning Division

North-Western Province Office

Uva Province Office
North Central Province Office
Eastern Province Office
Northern Province Office

From where applications can be obtained?
Applications can be obtained from the Enforcement Division,Western Province Division and all the Provincial Offices of UDA

Application Fee
Free of charge.

Hours for submitting applications
From 9.00 am to 4. 00 pm – Every working day

Service Charge
For Residential Activities=Rs.2,000 + VAT + NBT and for Non-residential Activities = Rs. 5,000 + VAT + NBT
For Sub-division of Land: Lands less than 1,000 sq.m = Rs. 2,000 + VAT + NBT
Lands more than 1,000 sq.m. but less than 5,000 sq.m. = Rs. 5,000+ VAT + NBT
Lands more than 5,000 sq.m but less than 10,000 sq.m. = Rs. 10,000 + VAT + NBT
Land more than 10,000 sq. m. for every 1,000 sq. m. = Rs. 1,000 + VAT + NBT
