Programme for Schooling of Non-School Going Children

Among various programmes implemented by the Department of Probation and Childcare Services to ensure the Rights of the Child,special, attention has been paid for programmes meant for the Rights of the Child for education. The programme for schooling of non-schooling children is one of these, launched in this respect.

For whom is this programme?

It is for chidren under 18 years of age, who are deprived of school education or who have stopped schooling half way due to economic hardships or other reasons

How to join the progamme?

Those interested can join the programme by submitting requisite documents and papers to the Child Rights Promotion officer attached to the Divisional Secretariat Division in which the child, qualified for assistance , lives.

Document and papers required.

A letter of request from the applicant.

A copy of the Birth certificate .
The Approval of the Divisional Secretary together with the recommendation of the child Rights Promotion Officer, attached to be Divisional Secretariat concerned.

What Assistance Received?

Strengthening of education of children by way of supplying them with sets of school material , creating awareness among parents or by solving problems which�hindered �their school education.
