Requirements:

• Under the provisions of the Animal feed Act No.15 of 1986 & 2016, licenses should be obtained from the Registrar/Animal Feed, the Department of Animal Production & Health prior to import different types of raw materials for animal feed or manufacturing the animal feed.
• If license has been taken already for animal feed manufacturing, obtaining license for importation of raw materials for the particular feed is not necessary.
• After obtaining licenses, pre clearance approvals should be taken for each and every consignment after submitting necessary documents before importation.

Applications are available:

For registration as an Importer, there is an application available.

However for the pre clearance approvals, there is no application available, but we need some information. There is a format for it and need to submit the duly filled format with proforma invoices. 

Fee for the application: For registration Rs 1000/= will be charged at the time of submission of the application. But for the pre clearance approvals - not charged

From 8.30 a.m to 4.15 p.m during the office hours of the weekdays,
