Eligibility
- Importer should have a valid license
- Importer should be subjected to the Licensing conditions
Note:
- If the license period is expired a letter should be provided with valid reasons for the delay. If the license is issued according to the regulations of the relevant authority, its approval should be obtained for extension of the period also.
- If the importer has violated the licensing conditions, additional fee is charged with the approval of the Import/Export controller

Submission of Application Form, Request Letter and Support Documents

Application Form: No application forms for the service. Request letter and support documents should be submitted by the applicant.
Procedure
Step 1: Importer submits all the Support Documents
Step 2: Unit 3 checks all the Support Documents with the licensing detail.
Step 3: When satisfied with the submitted documents debit the imported goods with the approval of Assistant Controller.
Step 4: Debit documents are given to the importer. One copy of the documents is kept with the Department for office use.
Note:
- If the importer has violated the licensing conditions , the Assistant Controller charges additional licensing fee.
- If the import value exceeds the licensing value due to any reason, the additional fee is charged from the importer with the approval of the Import/Export Controller.
- If the import period does not tally with the licensing period, the importer has to request for a amended license by a request letter
- If the import goods do not tally with license goods an amended license should be obtained before the import of goods.

Validity Time Line: Importer can obtain the service during the period of the license.
Costs Related to the Service
Cost: No cost involved in obtaining the Application Form.
Fee: No Fee
Penalties:
Penalties are imposed according to license conditions.
Penalties vary from case to case. (1%-10%)
Note:
If the importer imports goods without a license, an additional fee would be charged from the importer.
Surcharge: If the invoice value exceeds the licensing value the Department charges the excess amount and an additional fee.
Special Cases
If the importer has imported goods without a license, a goods received license is issued with a penalty. The following documents are needed for the goods received license to be issued.
