Awareness Programs for Business Community

Any interested individual Manufacturer /Trader /group of Manufacturers /Traders can make a request to the Authority.

Submission Procedure
Request should be made to the Director General of the Consumer Affairs Authority.

Step 1: Manufacturer /Trader places a request to the Director General Consumer Affairs Authority
Step 2: Discuss with the applicant to identify the type of the awareness program needed by the applicant
Step 3: Design the program
Step 4: Conducts the Awareness Program
Step 5: Discussion with Manufacturer /Trader and obtain their feed back
Step 6: Monitoring

Process Time Line:
Applicants have to send the request 1 month ahead of the scheduled date of the proposed program

Submission Time Line:
Working days - Monday – Friday
Counter open hours - 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Holidays - All Public and Mercantile holidays

Validity Time Line:
There is no specific validity time live.

Cost Related to the Services
Cost: Has to be born by the applicant
Fee: A fee will be charged based on the costs incurred by the Authority.

Special Cases
Apart from conducting market investigations and raids Consumer Affairs Authority on its own motion conduct awareness programs for Manufactures /Traders.

  • Authority selects a particular area to conduct the awareness programs
  • Officers visit the traders/manufactures within that area and conduct awareness programs
  • After the awareness program, Investigation team re-visits the particular traders to investigate whether they follow the rules and regulations of the CAA.
  • If the traders violate those rules and regulations, legal action will be taken.
