Eligibility: Any person or institute can obtain this service by making payments.

Requesting Procedure:

Application Counters:

1. Computer, Data, Climate, Rainfall and Agro meteorology Divisions.
2. National Meteorological Centre(NMC)for current data.

Available Data:
Daily/ Monthly Rainfall,Temperature,Humidity,Evaporation,Wind and Pressure - for every weather stations.
Temperature and Humidity in standard upper air levels available only for Colombo, Puttalam and Hambantota.

Time to Submit the Application Forms: 9:00am to 3:00pm on week days

Service Charges:

The Time for the Service(Normal and Prime Services)

1. Rainfall, temperature and rainy days data can be obtained on the same day.
2. Other data-Time depends on the amount of data.

Required Documents: A letter is required from the institute for the certified copies.

One person can copy the data within a single day on week days for the non financial projects and educational projects of the university students by providing a letter from the head of the institute and identity card.
Current data / past data can be received by fax on following day. The payments should be done in advance.
Otherwise, past data can be downloaded from www.meteo.gov.lk
