Department of Manpower and Employment was established with effected from 1st January 2010 under the Ministry of Labour Relations and Productivity Promotion, in terms of the Gazette Extraordinary no 1640/30 on 12th February 2010.

This department is currently functioning under the purview of the Ministry of Productivity Promotions.
