Obtaining Investment Assistance for Establishing a Private Processing Unit
Who can apply:
The target group of the scheme is medium scale EAC farmers, Farmers with organized out grower groups, Estates or medium scale processors or collectors of EAC. Farmer organizations can also apply but one person of the organization must take the responsibility of obtaing assistance according to the department regulations.
Nature of the Service:
The objective of assisting for EAC privete processing units is to ensure high quality EACl produce by improving overall processing system of an EAC crop. Quality of the product has to be granted during all post harvest practices including drying. The department will provide partial assistance to purchase set of machineries needed to process a particular crop. The applicant who is willing to obtain assistance for private processing unit must be willing to provide the building facilities and to bear part of the investment for machineries.

Application Procedure:
Must submit an application
to Extension officer (on wednesdays 8.30 a.m - 4.15 p.m at the nearest Agrarian Service Centre) or
to District Assitant Director on any Office day at 8.30 a.m - 4.15 p.m .
Fees Payable to Obtain Services:
Only Rs. 10.00 stamp at the time of application
How to provide the service:
After the registeration of the application the District Assistant Director and a panel of officers will visit the site and decide the applicant's eligebility for the scheme. Panel will decide the building requirement for the unit and machinery?needs. The panel will inform the applicant about?requirements for the unit?and?estimated expenditure. If applicant decide to undertake the investment he must decide whether to construct a new building or to convert an old building to a processing unit. What ever he does prior-approval has to be taken for the construction plan. After the completion of the building applicant must purchase and install the required machineries (according to the departmental recommendations) with his own cost. After the completion of the installation a panel of officers will inspect the processing unit and will decide the payment.

2-6 months after the application
