Treasury Bills

• Minimum Investment Rs. 10,000/-
• Investment duration -03 months 06 months or 12 months
• Investment can be made individually, jointly or by Institutions.
• Highly Liquid–Encashable at any time.
• Ownership of a Treasury bill is transferable.
• Renewal instructions can be given to Bank of Ceylon before maturity.
• Loans/Overdrafts against Treasury Bill can be obtained.
• Free of all taxes.

Treasury Bonds.
Treasury Bond is a medium and long term debt instrument issued by the Government of Sri Lanka

Main Features.

• 100% Risk free Investment-Repayment is guaranteed by the Government.
• Investment duration-02 Years to 15 Years
• Minimum Investment-Rs. 500000/-
• Yield rates are determined by the market
• Income at Regular intervals.-It carries half yearly coupon payments and the principal is repaid on maturity. Coupon interest is paid in every 06 months.
• Investment can be made individually, jointly or by Institutions.
• Highly Liquid –Tradable instrument in the secondary market
• Ownership of a Treasury bond is transferable.
