2.MTA-8 ( application)
3.Original Certificate of Registration(CR)
4.Revenue Licence for the year relevant to the date of transfer and a photocopy
5.Originals and photocopies of National Identity Card/valid driving licence or valid passport of the transferee and a letter of declaring No Objection to the transfer along with photocopies of National Identity Card/valid driving licence or valid passport of the transferor. ( This letter and the copy of National Identity Card should be certified and signed with the official stamp by the Grama Niladhari of the area, a Justice of Peace / Commissioner of Oaths/ Attorney-at-Law in the area or an Official in Staff Officer-Grade)
6.Two colour or black & white photographs of size of 3.5x 2.5 c.m. of the transferee obtained within 06 months prior to the date of application (should have been certified overleaf by the Grama Niladhari, a Justice of Peace or a staff officer of the area)
7.If the transferor or the new owner is a limited Company, forms should be signed with the embossed seal. If an embossed seal is not available, a letter on company’s letter head indicating the non-availability of an embossed seal should be submitted along with a photocopy of company registration certificate. In case of a limited company or a general company, a letter confirming the transfer signed by two members of the Board of Directors ( with their names and designations), name- list of the Board of Directors along with the letter confirming the registration of the company under the Department of the Registrar of companies.
8.In case a mortgage, absolute ownership or a lease has been registered, a letter of its cancellation.
9.In case of payment luxury taxes, originals and photocopies of the relevant receipts.

When a motor vehicle imported under an import licence or purchased locally is being transferred to another, a sum amounting to 10% of the CIF value is charged from the transferee since 26 March 2014.


Registration certificate will be issued after 2.00 p.m. on the same day only to the transferee.
