Approval for Building Plans

Eligibility: Production/Submission of building plans drawn subject to the regulations of the Urban Development Authority

  1. The relevant lot has been approved for the proposed development by the Urban Council
  2. A copy of the said survey plan should be submitted
  3. The plan submitted should include front elevation, side elevation, cross-section, field plan, development title and cross section of the foundation
  4. The plan under submission should be prepared in accordance with the regulations of the Urban Development Authority and drawn to relevant scales.
  5. Should be certified by a qualified person.

- Rs.200.00
12% Vat - Rs.24.00

Hours for Submitting Application
Working days - From 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., From 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m

Fees Payable for the Service (Processing Fee): A list attached.

Time Required to Render the Service (General Services and Priority Services): Between 2 weeks to 8 weeks

Supporting Document Required

  • Residential
  1. A copy of the blocking out plan approved by the Kesbawa Urban Council
  2. 3 copies of the building plan drawn to the scales and measurements stated in the application.
  3. A copy of the deed
  4. Copy of the receipt of Assessment tax paid in the name of applicant
  5. If the area exceeds 3000 square feet, the building application and the plan should be approved by a Charted Architect.
  6. When there is a blind wall, the recommendation of a structural engineer should be obtained.
  • Commercial and Industrial
  1. A copy of the blocking out plan approved for the commercial and industrial use by the Kesbawa Urban Council.
  2. 3 copies of the building plan drawn to the scales and measurements stated in the application A copy of the deed
  3. Copy of the receipt of the Assessment tax paid in the name of applicant
  4. When the area exceeds 3000 square feet, the building application and the plan should be approved by a Charted Architect.
  5. When there is a blind wall , the recommendation of a structural engineer should be obtained.
  6. Recommendation of Fire Brigade
  7. For industrial use, an application for Preliminary Planning Clearance (P.C.) should be submitted.
