Obtaining Amended Licenses for Import of Chemicals

Importer is allowed for nine amendments to their licenses. Amendments are allowed for postponement of the time period or to increase the value of the licensed goods or change the invoice types Amended licenses should be obtained for any possible change.

Eligibility

  • Applicant should have the license for the import of insecticide substance and pesticide substances.
  • Should not be more than nine amendments.
  • If the importation had exceeded the time period mentioned in the license a clearance letter should be obtained from the relevant Authority

Application Form
No application Form. The applicant should submit a letter and support documents.

Procedure
Step 1: Submit written request to Unit 03 for amendment
Step 2: Unit 03 considers the request.
Step 3: If it’s a time amendment letter of the delay should be submitted to unit 03.
Step 4: Assistant Controller approves the amendment.
Step 5: Amendments are made to the License.

Note: If it’s not a time amendment submit the support documents to amendments. Assistant Controller approves the amendment

Validity Time Line: The importer can receive the service during the period of validity of the license.

Costs Related to the Service

Cost: There is no fee for the application forms

Fee: Rs.50.00 for amendments

Note: If the amendments exceed invoice value 0.1% of the CIF value in excess.

Penalties: No penalties involved in this service

Surcharge: If the applicant has violated the licensing conditions, he/she will be charged a fine. The Controller of Imports and Exports approves the fine.
