Department of Cultural Affairs is organizing annually a Literary Contests under four categories – Divisional, District, Provincial and National Level to be in parallel with National Literary Arts Festival held annually.

5.Poetry(Open)
6.Short-story Contest(Junior)
7.Short-story ContestSenior)
8.Short-story Contest(Open)
9.Composition of Songs (Open)

N.B.Further details in this regard appear on the circular presented yearly.Any person who shows an interest in Literary creations is eligible to vie for his contest.With the information provided to the institutions… Newspaper advertisements and Divisional Secretariats, your creations can be forwarded with recommendation required in the application form to the District Secretary relevant to your district of origin. Literary Contest (relevant year) must be marked on the left-hand corner of envelope containing art creations.

Application can be obtained from the Cultural Officers of Divisional Secretariat or Cultural Development Assistants of Divisional Secretariats. Circular issued for this purpose and a leaflet giving necessary information- is attached to the application.

No fee will be charged for application.

Creations applications prepared in accordance with paper advertisements, letters and Media to be forwarded before closing date of the application to the address given thereof.

No fee will be levied for services performed.

Divisional Secretary, Director of Cultural Affairs, Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs, Asst. Director, will serve as Staff Officers in-charge.
