In terms of the pradeshiya sabha act of number 15 of 1987 pradeshiya sabha will take action to acquire lands for diversion, expansion, opening or for improving a public street or road which is not a main road or for any other public purpose. In this connection pradeshiya sabha will come to an agreement with the owner to offer compensation by granting him another land / payment of money or by both such ways. If there is a wall, a building, a gate, a fence or a tree such fact will be taken into consideration. Similarly lands purpose will also be acquired by the pradeshiya sabha. For this purpose the person concerned should be written notice about his willingness to the chairman of the pradeshiya sabha and the sabha will pursue action on the same.
